Prize Toshiba Scientific Paper Presentation Prize – Radiology  
Open To RANZCR College Members
Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR Radiology Education Officer for membership status confirmation closer to the event.
Award Toshiba ( Australia) has kindly donated a valuable prize for the most outstanding contribution to the Scientific Paper Presentations at the ASM. The prize consists of a return economy class airfare and 6 night’s accommodation to enable the winner to attend RSNA in 2007.  
Judging 2 representatives determined by the ASM Committee evaluate “most outstanding contribution to the Scientific Paper Presentation at the ASM”  

 

Title of Prize Toshiba Scientific Exhibit and Poster Display Prize – Radiology  
Open To RANZCR College Members
Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR Radiology Education Officer for membership status confirmation closer to the event.

Judging 2 representatives determined by the ASM Committee evaluates down to 10 finalists. The Chief Censor of Radiology and an ASM Committee member then evaluate to a winner for the “most outstanding contribution to the Scientific Exhibit Presentation at the ASM”  

 

Title of Prize Philips Medical Systems Radiology Scientific Paper Prize  
Open To Eligible candidates must be a student member of the RANZCR College or a Fellow of the College who has held his/her initial specialist qualification for not more than four years.
Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR Radiology Education Officer for membership status confirmation closer to the event.
Award Philips Medical Systems has kindly donated a cash prize of $2000 as well as a return economy class airfare to the College ASM for 2008 in Adelaide, South Australia.  
Judging 2 representatives determined by the ASM Committee evaluate “best Scientific Paper Presentation by a student member of the College, or a Fellow of the College who has held his/her initial specialist qualification for not more than four years.”  

 

Title of Prize Symbion Imaging Radiology Scientific Paper Prize  
Open To Eligible candidates must be a student member of the RANZCR College who has completed the Part II FRANZCR Examination.
Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR Radiology Education Officer for membership status confirmation closer to the event.  
Award Symbion Imaging has kindly donated a prize of sponsorship to a local or overseas CPD accredited conference/meeting to a maximum value of $10,000.  
Judging 2 representatives determined by the ASM Committee evaluate “best Radiology Scientific Paper by a student member who has completed the Part II FRANZCR examination”.  

 

Title of Prize Guerbet Best Registrar Exhibit Prize – Radiology (Previously termed ‘Poster’ Prize)
Open To Eligible candidates must be a student member of the RANZCR College who has completed the Part II FRANZCR Examination.

Award Aspen Pharmacare has kindly donated a return economy class airfare to the College ASM 2008 in Adelaide, South Australia for the best Registrar Exhibit.

Award Blackwell Publishing Asia has kindly donated a cash prize of $750.  
Judging 2 representatives determined by the ASM Committee evaluate “Best Exhibit Award for Radiology College Members (excluding student members)”.

Quality Improvement Prize

Title of Prize RANZCR/IRQN Quality Improvement Exhibit Prize ASM 2007 (Previously termed ‘poster’ Prize)
Open To The prize is open to all Radiologists and practice staff members.
Attendance at the Annual Dinner for Quality Improvement Exhibit entrants is optional.
Award The winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000 and a certificate.

The Accreditation Guidelines and Quality Committee (AGQC) of the RANZCR have been working to promote the awareness and importance of continuous quality improvement in practices.

The AGQC in collaboration with the International Radiology Quality Network (IRQN) would like to invite radiologists and practice staff members to enter a competition for the best quality improvement exhibit. Your exhibit can be related to any aspect of quality improvement eg: management, patient handling, clinical protocols, infection control etc. Demonstration of an understanding and application of practice audit and the quality improvement principle cycle is desirable. All sections included in the RANZCR Accreditation Standards can be potential topics for continual improvement, which can be assessed as part of a quantitative and qualitative review.

Judging Representatives from the College AGQC, evaluates “the best quality improvement exhibit.” Contact Lisa Penlington on 61 2 9268 9702 for more information.

Please note: The exhibits must be of a sufficient standard to be eligible for the prize. The AGQC reserves the right not to offer the prize if only one exhibit is submitted.

 

Radiation Oncology Awards/Prizes

Title of Prize Varian Prize – Radiation Oncology  
Open To Radiation Oncology College Student Member
Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR Radiation Oncology Education Officer for membership status confirmation closer to the event.  
Award Since 1984, the firm of Varian has kindly donated an annual monetary prize and a plaque to be awarded for the best scientific paper prepared and presented by a Student Member in the Radiation Oncology section of the Scientific Program of the ASM. This year, the cash prize is $1,500. The prize will be judged on the following criteria; originality, hypothesis generation, methodology, amount of work undertaken, analysis of results, presentation, clinical importance and response to questions. The abstract should include an indication of the background/hypothesis, methods/patients involved and results and conclusions.

Title of Prize Chris Atkinson Award – Best Radiation Oncology Scientific Paper Presentation  
Open To Radiation Oncology College Member (excluding student members)
Applicants names to be sent to RANZCR Radiation Oncology Education Officer for membership status confirmation closer to the event.
Award The Chris Atkinson Award is a cash prize of $1,000. The prize will be judged on originality, scientific merit and the quality of presentation.
Judging ASM Committee evaluates after speaking with PFEC Representative* “Best Radiation Oncology Scientific Paper Presentation by a College Member (excluding student members)”.  

 

Title of Prize AztraZeneca Exhibit Prize (Previously termed ‘Poster’ Prize)
Open To Open to Radiation Oncologists
Award This prize is awarded to the exhibit by a Radiation Oncologist which is judged to have made the most significant contribution to the scientific program. The prize is valued at $1,000.  
Judging ASM Committee evaluates after speaking with PFEC Representative* “Best Exhibit Prize for a Radiation Oncologist”.  

* Some prizes require judging to be done with the Chief Censor in Radiation Oncology.
