CSM 2009

We are pleased to announce for 2009 a Combined Scientific Meeting which marks the joining of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR), (including the Faculty of Radiation Oncology (FRO), The Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR) and the Australasian College of Physical Scientists & Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM). Submission of Abstracts

The 2008 ASM Program Committee invites the submission of abstracts on original work for consideration for a Scientific Paper, Scientific Exhibit or Educational Exhibit in the Radiology Program, or alternatively an abstract submission for consideration as a Scientific Paper or Scientific Exhibit for inclusion in the Radiation Oncology Program.

Summary of Abstract Submission Instructions

Please read through the submission instructions listed below before preparing your abstract:

Step 1: Read the General Policies and Requirements for the submission of abstracts.

Step 2: Write your abstract following the Abstract Format & Layout Guidelines.

Step 3: Download Scientific Paper, Scientific Exhibit or Educational Exhibit Template and insert/add your
abstract text. Save as a .doc document to your computer. Please note: Abstracts must not exceed 250 word limit, however this word limit excludes international invited speakers who may submit full papers. 

Step 4: Click on the button below to complete the Abstract Submission Form. It will be necessary to attach/upload the .doc copy of your abstract.

NOTE: Please print a copy of the abstract submission form for your records prior to clicking ‘upload’.

Invited Speakers – International Guest Faculty

Please note that all International Invited Speakers are not restricted to the 250 word limit and are invited to submit an abstract with a word limit of 500 words. Please use the supplied template formatting guidelines and submit your abstract using the online form.

Invited Speakers – Australian and New Zealand Guest Faculty

Please note that all Australian and New Zealand Guest Faculty Speakers are to submit an abstract with a maximum word limit of 250 words. Abstracts submitted by invited speakers are to follow the same layout and guidelines outlined within the abstract formatting and layout guidelines with the exception of the abstract body. Invited speakers are permitted to write the abstract body in their preferred format. For your convenience, a separate abstract template for invited speakers is available on the abstract template page.

Review Process and Notification of Acceptance

All abstracts will be peer reviewed. Reviewers will be blinded to author detail and institution(s) of origin. Notifications of acceptance will be sent via e-mail to the submitting author at the end of June 2008. Scientific Papers submitted for oral presentation that cannot be accommodated within the Meeting program will be considered and reviewed for a place in the Scientific Exhibits / Educational Exhibits display. The Meeting Managers will not be held responsible for abstract submissions not received via the website or for submission errors caused by Internet service outages, hardware or software delays, power outages or unforeseen events.

Publication and Presentation of Abstracts

All accepted abstracts will be published in the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology. The books will be distributed to all delegates at the registration desk of the ASM. Scientific Exhibits and Educational Exhibits will be electronically presented at the onsite presenters Lounge – an electronic poster presentation system launched at last year’s ASM. Authors are able to upload their poster presentations through the online author module of ePresenterTM. Delegates are able to view all posters during the entire duration of the ASM and to communicate with authors through the interactive database at any time.
