Anaphylaxis Workshop
With over 4 million Australians at risk, anaphylaxis is a severe, life-threatening allergic reaction that demands urgent recognition and management. A federal committee inquiry identified that “anaphylaxis continues to be mismanaged with many people treated sub optimally”.
Insights from a recent coroner’s case following an anaphylaxis post contrast medium will enhance your understanding and preparedness by delivering essential information on how to respond effectively and prevent fatalities. This session will provide updated information on the guidelines with a practical hands-on opportunity allowing participants to practice:
- Lifesaving strategies: update your anaphylaxis management skills including how and when to give Adrenaline.
- Real-life insights: apply learnings from a coroner’s case to deepen the clinical significance of how we respond.
- Clinical best practice: stay at the forefront of patient care and learn how to incorporate the principles of emergency management.
It is now a requirement that all clinical radiologists undertake anaphylaxis training within a three-year period.
