ASM scholarships
Each year we offer 2 FRONNZ scholarships and 2 Māori scholarships for medical students to attend the ASM. The Trust recently approved for an addition 2 (4 total) Māori scholarships from this year.
Scholarships to attend the 2026 ASM
RANZCR has the following NZ scholarships available to attend the 2026 NZ ASM:
- 4 scholarships are available to Māori medical student/junior doctors
- 2 scholarships are available to any junior doctor interested in learning more about radiation oncology
NZ ASM Māori Scholarship
Four scholarships are available. Successful applicants will receive funding for registration, air travel and accommodation with a value of up to $2,500 (incl GST). Expenses exceeding the set limits must be supplemented by the applicant.
To be eligible for a scholarship an applicant must:
- currently reside in New Zealand
- be a medical student or Resident Medical Officer
- tell us in 100 words or less why they are interested radiation oncology or radiology, and why they would like to receive a scholarship to attend the RANZCR 2026 NZ ASM.
- provide their full name, contact details and iwi affiliation(s).
The closing date for applications is Monday 31 August 2026.
NZ ASM Radiation Oncology Scholarship
Two scholarships are available. Successful applicants will receive funding for registration, air travel and accommodation with a value of up to $2,500 (inc. GST). Expenses exceeding this limit must be supplemented by the applicant.
To be eligible for a scholarship an applicant must:
- be an RMO who is currently working or studying in New Zealand
- tell us in 100 words or less why they are interested in a career in radiation oncology and why they would like to receive a scholarship to attend the RANZCR 2026 ASM
- have secured agreement from their Supervisor, Head of Department, or equivalent to attend the meeting.
