ASM Art Contest Celebrating RANZCR’s 90th Anniversary
We are pleased to announce the launch of the ASM Art Contest in celebration of RANZCR’s 90th anniversary! This year, we invite you to showcase your artistic talents and creativity. The top 10 artworks will be displayed at the 75th Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) in Melbourne, taking place from 23-25 October 2025,
Theme and Requirements
All artworks must include a mention, or a high-level theme related to RANZCR’s 90th anniversary, celebrating “90 years of pushing boundaries and defining tomorrow.”
What Constitutes Artwork?
For the upcoming contest, we are specifically seeking submissions in the following categories:
- Paintings: Artworks created using mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolour, or other paints applied to surfaces like canvas, paper, or wood.
- Hand Drawings: Original works rendered by hand using tools like pencils, charcoal, ink, or pastels on various substrates.
- Sculptures: Three-dimensional art pieces crafted by shaping materials such as clay, stone, metal, ceramics or wood.
- Photography: Capturing images through cameras, or digital art.
We encourage artists to delve into these mediums to convey their unique perspectives and interpretations. Please ensure that your submission aligns with one of the specified categories for this contest.
Submission Details
Judging: All artworks must be submitted before the deadline.
- Submissions can be made by image or video (for sculptures) with a maximum size of A1 for judging.
- If your artwork is selected, you will be required to transport your artwork/sculpture to the ASM for display. RANZCR will cover the costs for any couriers or postage of the artwork.
- Easels and displays will be facilitated by RANZCR.
- Judging will take place between 1-12 September 2025.
Submission:
Submit a digital image of your artwork first to events@ranzcr.edu.au. If selected as one of the top 10, you will be asked to bring the physical artwork or sculpture to the ASM.
Deadline for Artwork Submission: 29 August 2025, 5 pm AEST
Entry Requirements
- You must create the artwork yourself.
- Your artwork should represent your interpretation of the 90th-anniversary theme.
- One entry per person.
- Local Organising Committee and ASM Management Committee members are not eligible to enter.
- RANZCR staff are not eligible to enter.
Judging and Display
Judging: The top 10 artworks will be selected by a panel of judges, including ASM Convenors. Additionally, there will be a People’s Choice Award and evaluations by a couple of invited VIPs.
Display: As part of the RANZCR 90th milestone recognition at the ASM 2025, taking place from 23-25 October, the top 10 artworks will be displayed on-site.
Artworks will be displayed on easels or poster boards. Artists must provide the artwork in a frame suitable for hanging or on a canvas.
You are welcome to take your artwork with you or it can be sent back with the College bulk courier to the head office.
